Happy New Year!
Sharing how I do my menu, my workouts, & daily chores...
I didn’t really mean to leave off my “series” last year. I had at least one more post in my head about how to honor the sabbath even if it’s just for the sake of prioritizing rest.
I also don’t want to be one more mom that says things like, life just got so busy. But hear me out. Life just got so busy.
We finally achieved one of the kids’ lifelong goals of selling homemade goods at a market.
I accidentally stumbled myself into a dream job of painting a mural. It’s actually just the logo of the coffee shop on the side of the building. I’m hoping there’s more to come, but that was all budget would allow for them at the time.
As a family, we went on a 10 day trip to from Texas to New York to see The Arch, the midwest (why is it called the midwest if we were not west), Niagara Falls, Mammoth Cave, and The Ark.
We sold the ewes. Butchered the rams. Sold a few pounds of lamb chops. Raised and butchered the meat birds. Sold a few. I had a huge garden. I preserved…some. I taught art lessons. We joined a running club, stayed with the speech club, started 2 kids in tumbling, let one play spring baseball, started a new co-op while sticking with the previous co-op (each only being a few hours per week), and tried to run a home business selling bread and eggs.
It would make me so happy to go digging through my photos to add photo evidence of each of these endeavors but I just need to plow through and write this. I keep starting things that are too long to finish with the time allotted and instead produce nothing at all.
Since it’s the new year, and I do love a fresh new start, solid goals, and habit stacking, I want to revisit what I wrote last year. Time management has proved to be one of my strongest areas of improvement because I have dedicated the energy, effort, and prayer to get better at spending time wisely.
I’m not part of hustle culture, and I don’t stay busy for busyness’ sake. But honestly? Having middle schoolers is eating my lunch. I can’t figure out how to give them all individual school time, friend time, mom time, and still take them to the extracurriculars they desire. So I’m adapting. Learning how to keep the house running smoothly is the stay-at-home-mom’s whole life, but doing it while homeschooling and with multiple ages is a very delicate balancing act. There will be more on this later, I’ve been thinking a lot about raising pre-teens.
In the meantime, please consider revisiting my posts from last year.
